I was born in Ohio, grew up in Michigan, attended MIT and Stanford.  Have worked for start-up and fortune 500 companies in California.  Recently left the "work a day" world to pursue my dreams and give a little something back.

I am a husband, a son, and a father.  Somewhere along the way I became: an optimist, early adopter, tech enthusiast, engineer, and photographer.

California is a great place to live, it affords be the opportunity to work in the tech industry, enjoy many diverse climates all year round, and take landscape and wildlife photos.

I am pictured above taking a landscape photo in Death Valley National Park.  My son is just to the right of this crop.  The weather was pleasant and we all had a great time on this fall time trip to Death Valley.  The trip ended with Thanksgiving in Dana Point, where some friends/relatives live.

These are a few of the many places that I can be found on the world wide web: LinkedIn,  Google PlusInstagramand Facebook.  Most recently I've gotten back to an old love, bicycling.  You can follow my progress here: Strava.

I have tried to use the unique identifier "davedmiller" as my personal brand on the web.  Some people think I don't know how to spell David...but in reality it contains my middle initial squished between dave and miller.   Dots may have helped with this, but at the time dots didn't work everywhere.

I recently completed a Coursera course on Machine Learning.  I found it to be a fascinating topic, and look forward to applying many of the ideas learned there to some real world problems.
